Squirrel Removal
Squirrels are a pest that many have complicated feelings about. Although they’re cute and perceived as essentially harmless, we know that the common grey squirrels carry diseases and were responsible for almost completely wiping out the native British red squirrel. Regardless of how you see them, there is no doubt that they present a problem to homeowners and can cause significant damage including to property and electrical and plumbing systems.
The most common issue that people have with squirrels occurs when they decide to nest in the loft space. Once this has happened, the area becomes their territory and they will act aggressively towards anyone who attempts to move them. If you try and block their access point, they will attack the blockage until they get in. We use live trapping to deal with squirrels and we will remove any captured squirrels from your property.
OUR PROCESS
1. Inspection and Assessment
Our trained technicians will carry out a full survey of your property to identify signs of squirrel activity, such as gnawed timbers, droppings, scratching noises, or damaged insulation. We will locate entry points and assess the extent of the infestation.
2. Safe and Humane Trapping
We use professional-grade traps to humanely traps and remove squirrels from your property. These traps are placed strategically in areas of high activity, ensuring the quickest and most effective results.
3. Proofing and Prevention
Simply removing squirrels isn’t enough. We also carry out proofing work to seal entry points, repair damage, and prevent squirrels from returning. This may include securing roof gaps, soffits, vents, and other access routes.
4. Advice and Aftercare
Once the squirrels are removed, our technicians will provide practical advice to help reduce the risk of future infestations—such as trimming overhanging branches and ensuring food sources like bird feeders don’t attract them back.
